Glo night returns to the UK on Thursday the 30th of May at Retro in Manchester as an 18+ event with doors opening at 7:30 hosted by Texas native Astral Laflair in collaboration with Manchester’s Xtettra whom both of which I spoke with before tomorrow’s event.

Astral has already done many shows before in London, then through a mutual friend Lil Joe Pod Astral became connected with Xtettra who wanted to team up leading to Thursdays event; expect music from hyper pop, scene core and glo genres with class Manchester based acts Rix, NeoLeo, Doghearts and many more taking stage.

QnA with Astral la Flair |& Xtettra

Q: So why choose to host in Manchester as opposed to London or anywhere else in the UK?

A: “You’ve got a really tight knit community in Manchester of people who make music and I feel like everyone’s just there for each other, they rate each other’s music, everyone gets on well, it’s the genre too everyone seems to have features with everyone it’s just a community thing really.” - Xtettra

Q: After spending some time in Manchester what can you say about the culture and community of our scene?

A: It’s more open arms more caring, I felt coming here being new to the area they were kind to me, its much more open arms especially as an American its easier to get your toes in the water with the scene, it was easy for me to just tap in.” - Astral

Q: I’ve never been to a glow show before what should I expect?

A: “A lot of ‘glo’ energy 2k13 2k14, but then we also collide it with the hyper pop and what we’re bringing to the scene right now which is the new wave, which I feel is what we’re on right now and that’s what we’re bringing to our community and the fans” - Astral

Q: If you guys could say something to everyone attending tomorrow what would you say?

A: “For anyone that really shows up, it means a lot to me, especially because I’m an American coming out here and this is my first time hosting a show in Manchester up here in the north, so anyone that comes out and shows love or shows support, it really means a lot to me and Tommy, we’ve been putting in a lot of work and effort you know, it’s just about the passion; I’m expecting people to see something different something new, a lot of influence from American culture, I was inspired by the glo music I haven’t see anyone put on a glo type of show and that’s what I grew up on, so if you’re coming just expect something different we’re really excited. - Astral
